The fuel delivery system is a complex mechanism that provides constant supply of gasoline or diesel to the vehicle’s engine. The diesel version of the Grand Cherokee debuted three years after the official release, it was equipped with a 2.5 L turbodiesel engine with the power output of 115 hp. In the first generation, which was internally referred to as the ZJ, the Grand Cherokee was powered by a 4.0 L inline-6 or a 5.2 L or 5.9 L V8. It allowed the carmaker to enter the SUV segment.
Besides, it was the first vehicle released by Chrysler after they purchased the Jeep brand. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a truly innovative mid-size luxury SUV, as from the very beginning it never employed body-on-frame construction and was always offered as a unibody vehicle.
